Green light for the Port of Alicante superyacht marina

The closure of the 2022 lawsuit unblocks the new marina on quays 10, 12 and 14: berths for yachts of up to 50 metres, plus leisure and dining areas.

On 20 May the Port Authority of Alicante was notified that the court proceedings opened in 2022 against Amendment No. 5 of the Port Special Plan had been closed, after the claimant withdrew the case. This clears the last obstacle for the superyacht marina planned on the Levante breakwater.

The concessionaire, Puerta del Mar y Ocio, holds a ten-year concession with a planned investment of up to €15 million to transform more than 110,000 m² across quays 10, 12 and 14: pontoons for yachts of up to 50 metres, retail spaces, leisure and dining areas, advanced nautical services, and environmental management and waste collection facilities.

The closure of the court proceedings is a decisive milestone that allows us to move forward with confidence on a project that is key to the future of the port and of Alicante.

Local media also highlight the new basin's potential for the wintering and maintenance of large yachts, and the direct and indirect employment expected during construction and operation.
